Worm Castings are an all natural way to boost your soil!
Our friends in NY state run a worm farm and have developed their own version of the African Nightcrawler. These worms are fed a tightly controlled diet that’s vegan, organic, and GMO-free. This special diet contains a proprietary list of ingredients and a large variety of trace minerals that enables the worms to, well, um … produce the best quality castings possible!
The Castings are:
Loaded with microbes
Fixes Plant Nutrients
100-150 lbs/Acre Nitrogen Cycling
Increases Root Mass
Increases Air & Water Flow
Adds Humic Matter
Suggested Worm Castings Application:
Minimum Application: make the castings approximately 15% of total soil, but even smaller amounts have been shown to have a significant benefit.
Lawn Enhancement: Spread 1 lb for every 50 square feet.
Lawn Fixup/Re-do: Mix 1 lb for every 10 square feet in with topsoil before seeding.
Indoor Plants: Approximately 15% of potting soil. Mix 1.5 cups with 10 cups potting soil.
Garden: Till in with top 6”-10” of top soil. 1 lb for every 10 square feet.
Garden: Top Dressing – Spread 1 lb for every 40-50 square feet.
Maximum Application: Worm Castings will NOT burn or harm your plants at any level, but there is a point of diminishing returns at 20% of soil by weight or volume. Worm Castings should never exceed 20% of planting, potting or soil mix.
Worm Castings are a soil conditioner, a source of nutrients and will help break down other nutrients in the soil to make them readily available for plant uptake. Worm Castings are an all natural fertilizer and pesticide.
